Grayson County, Texas
Thursday, January 29th, 2009Grayson County is located in North Texas, about an hour’s drive outside of the Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex. Grayson County borders the State of Oklahoma to the north, and shares the southern shores of Lake Texoma and the Red River with Oklahoma. Grayson County is named after the former Republic of Texas Attorney General Peter Grayson.
Grayson County, Texas has a population of around 150,000 people, with most of its residents centering around the cities of Denison and Sherman, the latter being the Grayson County seat. Grayson County features many, many natural resources, with crude oil still being pumped out of the Grayson County grounds since the discovery of its existence in the county in the early 1900’s. The county depends much on its natural resource incomes, but also has a small manufacturing core.
